That means it's a subscriber copy. Way back when, PS Publishing sold lifetime subscriptions. The buyers got to choose what they wanted their number field to say. I have copy R of Thinner.

Here's the email I got from one of the head honchos at PS when I enquired about this:

We have a group of LIFETIME SUBSCRIBERS who paid a large sum of money a long time ago. This meant that each of the Lifetimers receive all of the signed editions of our books printed under the PS logo. This customer has chosen to have the letter ‘R’ put on all of his books.

Ah, that makes sense.
My Subpress Game of Thrones number actually belongs to a lifetimer who doesn't collect them. In that case it's just a low number in the regular edition, so I didn't even realize that some publishers used a different system.

Me too. I did not understand what this would grow into. I should and could have bought the Bronze. But I did not. So that's another one for the "oh well"
column.

Alternatively it was the BEST decision of mine.

BUT that is gambling and investment. I mean I read today that the hugest performing stock of the last decade was Netflix. A $77 investment today is worth $25k US. Magine that. 30000% increase on your money. “IF you had only known”.....
