I was born on the 23rd November 1973 in Hexham, which is in the north of England. I'm the eldest of three, all girls. We moved down through England and Wales, until my family finally settled in the Cotswolds, in the south west.

I had a pretty idyllic childhood, my Dad is a social worker and has nearly always worked for specialist children's homes where the home/s are on a private campus, including grounds for staff housing. These places were generally in very rural areas and all had farms and plenty of play areas - so it was kinda like being in the Famous Five, lots of adventures and hearty picnics...we were just forced to let my littlest sister tag along instead of Timmy the dog.

I left home when I was 18. Mainly because we were living on one of these campus places, called the "Cotswold Community" and I didn't drive, so I was a bit cut off from my friends.
I'm pretty sure most of the staff had initially arrived expecting to take part in some kind of ongoing folk festival - as there were hand knitted rainbow jumpers, jesus sandals and vegans galore - they took social work on as a side line.
We had things called "gatherings" at various points in the year, where you'd turn up at one of the barns and everyone bought food and drink and instruments for the inevitable sing song. All very lovely, but to the 18 year old rock fanatic - slightly embarassing!

I moved out with some friends and had a blast for the next four years (sex, drugs and rock and roll), after which I moved back to a village near the Community and got together with my husband - 12 years later we have three children, one cat and live opposite a pub (rock and roll, beer and once every other month)

Education wise, I did well at school but lacked the motivation to stick at college - which I dropped out of twice. First time I studied French, English Literature and Art - second go I did Eng Lit, Art and Psychology.
College is something I think often of going back and redoing.

"So many vows. They make you swear and swear. Defend the King, obey the King, obey your father, protect the innocent, defend the weak. But what if your father despises the King? What if the King massacres the innocent? It's too much. No matter what you do, you're forsaking one vow or another."

You too I'm good, it was sports day at my children's school, so I've been cheering all day

    What is your profession?
At the moment I clean at the pub in the mornings and in the evenings I work behind the bar or in the kitchen cooking and also at the local shop.
I also have my artwork, painting murals (currently at the local school) which is potentially very good money - when Max starts school I'll be concentrating on making that my full time job.

Do you own a house or rent an apartment?
Own a house - my middle sister rents and her rent is as much as our mortgage...go figure!

    Do you want more pets?
Well I still put "a pony" on my Christmas list at my parents house evey year
I've always wanted a dog (a husky, which would be named Ninook like Sam's dog in Lost Boys) but I don't think I could dedicate enough time to anymore pets right now.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Dude, a rock star all the way!

    Plain or peanut M&M's?
    DEFINATELY peanut!!

how often do you go to London? is there any hope I'll see you there some day?
Very rarely - once a year perhaps? But my Dad goes twice a week on business, so its very easy for me to get there if I want/need to (need being a Bear meet up situation ) Also my Dad was born and raised in London and knows his way round, so I like to go with him. he even has a bear connection, having been born in Paddington

what, if any, if your favorite place in London? in Paris?
London...I'd say Camden, because I love markets. Paris...grrr, my trip to Paris was another story, I didn't get to see the parts I wanted so I can't say. But I will return without a doubt.

    have you ever been in:

    - Edinburgh
    - Norwich
    - Salisbury
    - Cambridge
    - Oxford
    - Canterbury
    ???????????
All except for Norwich and Canterbury...I don't remember most of those as I was very young when I went. I'm not far from Oxford though.

I always feel I should say something really intellectual when anyone asks me this question, but its Stand By Me closely followed by Lost Boys.
Aside from enjoying the films themselves, it's very nostalgic whenever I watch them as I first saw them at a really great time in my life.

Do you plan on visiting the USA?
Absolutely! Money is the only thing standing in my way.

    What is your favorite hobby?
    Reading, art and walking.

Quote Originally Posted by ManOfWesternesse View Post

Imo, no! Thats a very emphatic no!! To me they are utterly redundant and a drain on our money. There are so many people acting as goodwill embassadors these days that the Royals wouldn't be missed.

Well, we moved alot and I went to alot of schools so I learnt to just mix in and get on with things. I really enjoyed school, but not for the social side, I just loved to learn. I was never one of the incrowd kids - not outcast, but definately came into my own socially at college (which coincided with the decline of my academic achievements )

I have only just (five minutes ago) finished decorating my wall with Paddington Bear coasters!!!

and, I am afraid, Camden Lock is rapidly deteriorating... almost like Saint-Denis in Paris... it becomes trendier and more aggressive and more juvenile-delinquent-ish with every year...

I've been thinking about this the whole time I've been at work...and I can't say just one...I could maybe narrow it down to a top 20. So in my top 20 would definately be: Lord of the Rings - J R R Tolkien, The Cider House Rules - John Irving, The Crow Road - Iain Banks, Great Expectations - Charles Dickens, American Gods - Neil Gaiman, Prisoner of Azkaban - J K Rowling, Dracula - Bram Stoker... ah nuts, I'm even finding this hard!

What CD do you own that would be embarrassing if anyone found out?
Ok, come here...closer...closer...*whispers* NSYNC ft. Nelly - Girlfriend...don't tell ANYONE, ok?

    What is your favorite color?
    Blue.

    What was your best vacation?
Oh crikey! Thats a tough one! Um...when I was 12 I won a competition to stay in Meyras, which is in the Ardeche in France, with 7 other English kids and 42 French kids for a month - no parents, just the staff of the huge place we stayed at.
It was so cool. We did stuff like building rafts, putting on shows, we got driven miles away from the centre in teams and had 3 days to find our way back to the centre (we had food, water, tents, a map and a cassette player with War of the Worlds which is awesomely spooky to listen to round a campfire at night.)
On our last day we had our own Olympic games, and Remy - the director, dressed as Zeus and carried a flaming torch down to the lake to start the games off...it was just amazing.

Have you ever met/seen anyone famous?
Yes, Rick Astley, Status Quo and Nick Heyward - all cringe worthy UK stars of the 80's - I was part of the "audience" at a kid's tv show for a day and we got to speak to them afterwards.

In a dis or dat over Supes and Batman though, I'd pick the Dark Knight everytime

Do you have a middle name? If so, what is it?
    Michelle.

    What is your favorite season?
    Autumn.

    When did you start painting?
Are we counting finger painting and general splodging around? If so then from the age of 2 onwards

Lost!!!!!!!!! Did you really need to ask? Seriously, I don't watch tv apart from Lost.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Probably somewhere in the Dordogne in France. I do love where I live now though, it's very beautiful.

    Fish and chips!
