Hello all!
My vacation is running out and this is a big one on my list.
Obviously it is very important that we keep our board software up to date so we don't end up 20 versions behind. That creates one hell of a time to upgrade anything when the version you are running finally becomes obsolete.
So its not like I HAVE to upgrade but the time will come and I really need to make sure it is done in a timely manner when they come out. I have not upgraded to all the 3.6.x versions because that seems redundant, but vBulletin has now released 3.7.0 and that is one that needs to be done.
I am hoping this will only take me a few minutes but I must close and back up the board while it is in process to make sure we don't lose anything.
The look of the board will not change and I have been assured that all of our major addon's to the site will continue to function properly. The ones I have researched in depth are the CMPS that runs the site pages and our WIKI software that runs all of our catalogs.
I will be taking great measures to make sure none of them are hosed in this process. I will also be taking a full back up so that the site can be restored in case there is a problem.
I know a shit load about this stuff but have never done this so its going to take me being in front of the thing will all cylinders firing at once.
Questions can be posted here.
