    Just noticed this thread.
You could probably get most of the dates from the US copyright site.

Example: Four Past Midnight shows Publication date as 9-11-1990

RF and others, what do you think about adding publishing dates from here to our list where we have a date missing (mostly in the early 1990s)?

We want the most accurate information.
The Copyright site doesn't always accurately reflect the publishing date, nor the actual "street date"....when people could actually buy the book.
For early books there is conflicting info.
I think it's best to cull from all available information rather than rely one source (including our own, which is the most comprehensive). In the example given, (Four Past Midnight) we could use the US CR info but should note it as such.

Maybe, both could be added? Like : official copyright date : X, and secondary : xxx

I think that the "street" date is not always a good thing, because some bookstores could and would put the book out before, no?

By "street" date, I meant the date when it's generally agreed, or proven that the book was widely available to the public.

Yes, back in the day I don't think there were "official" release dates, but by the 1990s I'm pretty sure that was common practice, so it's a little strange that that's still kind of a blind spot for us, especially with one of my all-time King faves Rose Madder.

I'm almost certain I picked up Rose Madder on release day...but I have no way to double check what date that was.

[Digression: I only read RM that one time (due for a re-read) and I don't recall much other than that A) it was an unusual story, B) I liked it, and C) the tremendous phrase "his outraged balls."]

My notes say I bought ROSE MADDER on June 12, 1995 at Paperback Outlet.

According to my file card the 2nd edition was released March 1984 and I paid $20 for it from Grant.

The Third edition was released in 1998. I don't have a more accurate date.

I'm reading "Chart of Darkness: A History of Stephen King On the Bestseller List" by Kevin Quigley (Published by Cemetery Dance).

In the back is a chart that lists the "release" date for all his books (upto End of Watch). Perhaps you can check with Kevin Quigley on how he got these dates, and compare with those in this tread. A spot check shows many are the same, but some are different.

I have highlighted the differences in the above. here is the key:

No data given in book: Left in black
Book not in original list: Title and date in brown
Missing day of month provided: Title and day in purple
Dates do not match: Title, and new date in red, (not necessarily correct)

    Dates Match: Title in green

Take this information with a grain of salt. Note, I took a picture of each page of the chart so I didn't have to hold the book open. The picture was fuzzy 'cause I suck as a photographer, so may have read some dates wrong.

Would love some more clarify/confirmation of these dates.
