I think, for this contest, the 2kb limit should not apply.

Remember: The only way you get a board message on size for images is if you try to directly upload them to the site by browsing your local computer.

Almost no one does it that way anymore.

This also does not apply to the Gallery. Its just an old vBulletin rule to make sure board space is saved.

Thanks Matt, that may just be what I've been doing. The next time I try to put one into my sig, I'll host in photobucket and see if it works.

When I would like to change my sig I can read this: Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 500 by 100 pixels or 2.0 KB (whichever is smaller).

So... did I misunderstand something? Should it be both?

I always go with the 500 X 200 Pixels in Photobucket and then image it onto the site.

okay, so maybe i'm not submitting one. you guys are making me look at mine and go - hmmmmm. really kind of sucks.

but on the bright side. i did get to play around with paintshop pro for a few hours ( a few. that's funny.) and i got to learn about layers, and border effects, and multi-somethingorothers. and a whole bunch of other stuff i didn't know anything about.

i'll probably just drop it into my sig whenever i get it finished.

turtlesong, if you honestly don't want to submit it and try then that's fine, but please don't compare yourself to others. We are all friends here and everyones talents are different, imo.

no, seriously. i never worry about that kind of stuff. i've always known that my talents lie in other directions. i've always said that i can't even draw stick figures properly (don't laugh, it's true). for me this was an exercise in learning about some software that i never really gave myself time to learn about - and giving some much needed coverage to oy (who always gets left out).

also, it has everything to do with not taking attention away from some amazing artwork that others are submitting. you never really know how talented people are until they put their stuff out there. plus, trying to convince a few others to put there stuff out here.

but i appreciate your input. it means a lot.
