    That's awesome.

Elodin: "Tombs is for feckless twits who can't chew their own food. My boy's a Re'lar! He has the feck of twenty men!"

Kvothe: “Books are a poor substitute for female companionship, but they are easier to find.”

Simmon: ”It’s just ointment in case you get burned...but if you mix it with piss, it turns into candy.” Sim’s expression was deadpan. “Delicious candy.”

Wow, looks like they made some interesting changes. I got a feeling they'll be pushing that PG rating, cause it looks like there's some really dark moments there sprinkled in with the bits of humor.

I'm just about finished with Order of the Phoenix, and I think I can safely say that it's going to end up being my least favorite of the series. :/

I wouldn't say it's my favorite of the series (Deathly Hallows still is my pick!) but I do enjoy Order of the Phoenix a lot, especially the birth of the DA.

It'll take a lot more than words and guns,
A whole lot more than riches and muscle.

    Spoiler:
    snape
is actually still a good guy" I cry BULLSHIT at that

I liked that twist to! but I don't like the way she UNtwisted it
she crossed the line at the end of book six and then decided to safely fix it in book seven
and if a writer is going to cross the line in such a fantastic manner they ought to stick with it
honestly that kinda retcon is more common is poorly written comicbooks

I don't agree. I think this "twist" was telegraphed way back in the beginning of the series
    Spoiler:
when Dumbledore continually stated his trust in Snape, but refused to state his reasons.

Umbridge line is my favorite, maybe because I once lived in conditions very similar to those she tried to introduce. I can swear that Rowling's understanding of totalitarianism and resistance is better than that of Orwell and Huxley put together. It is subtler and truer in spirit.

It's not that I'm having trouble relating to the ideas she's trying to enforce, I think we've all felt oppressed in our lives, in one way or another, and we've all had that insatiable urge to be rebellious ... I just feel like she's too one dimensional. She can't hold a candle to the type of mystery and pseudo-villianism that Snape represents, where he has an obvious dislike for Potter but continues to help him. I don't know, her passages just provide nothing for me. And Hagrid is just ... annoying

Yes! I loved Snape, and I thought the "twist" at the end of book 6 was not what it appeared to be. I knew there was a reason, I didn't know what it was, but I knew it was all part of the plan.

    Spoiler:
I think my favorite twist was Petunia, honestly. Jealousy went a long way in explaining why she was a total bitch. However, the little "Severus loves Lily" thing was blech. Although I think it was the same way I felt about the end of TDT... if it hadn't been in so much damn fanfiction, I might have liked it.

Default Professor Snape in Book 7-Warning Spoilers Abound

I was just wondering if people actually think that
    Spoiler:
Professor Snape died at the end of book 7? I think that they kind of leave that up in the air. Harry did not "check" to see if Snape was actually dead.
Yes, the snake bit him, but Artuhur Weasley also got bit by a snake and he survived!
I think (hope) that Professor Snape somehow survived. I actually think that Snape did survive.

    What do you guys think?

    i hope so.
    Spoiler:
All throughout the books i had the sneaking suspicion that he was too evil to be evil, and expected the twist. Yet i was happily surprised when it came, because it was in no way as corny as I expected. He really does hate Harry, and his father, but he truly did love Harry's mother, and therein lies his redemption. So yes I hope he lived, although the epilogue made no mention of it, and the fact that Harry named one of his kids after him doesn't bode well for the greasy haired anti-hero.
All the same, I wish him the best.
"So many vows. They make you swear and swear. Defend the King, obey the King, obey your father, protect the innocent, defend the weak. But what if your father despises the King? What if the King massacres the innocent? It's too much. No matter what you do, you're forsaking one vow or another."
