Oh yeah.. I would wake up feeling sad because I missed my friends. It went on for a while. I still have moments when things will remind me of the series, like a song or just a feeling, and it makes me wish I was living the story for the first time again. Whenever I get someone else to read the series, I feel happy and jealous at the same time.

Well, I used to be 100% opposed to the idea. After hearing about J J Abrahms possibly doing it and having seen LOST I am only 99% opposed.

It's of no concern to me as I won't be watching it at all if it is made. It is the only thing DT/SK related that will never enter my collection.

I had that "Post Dark Tower" thing when I finished The Dark Tower the first time and have that feeling every now and then since. But now with the comic series, especially The Long Road Home, there is more Dark Tower and I am so happy for that.

It took me a few weeks to wrap my brain around it being over. I was filled with all sorts of emotions. I was frustrated at the ending. I love it at first but then changed my mind.

I was sad to see Roland having to do it all over again. I was depressed that just about everyone died and I wouldn't be reading about them anymore.

I was happy that the Stephen King had finished the series and that the adventure came to a close.

Now three and a half years later, I've let a lot of stuff go and I just embrace what we have and I can always reread my books.

Maerlyn, I totally agree with you. I am currently rereading the Dark Tower series and still loving it.

I was very, very sad. I was sad my friends were gone and that I would not read of their (new) adventures anymore. Like most here though, I have recovered and I love it each and every time I reread (or listen to) the series.

Yes, but for only one of my friends. I can't really say Alain and Cuthbert are my friends....not like Eddie, Jake, Susannah and Oy.

Finishing the series for the first time was terribly depressing. I hated the ending then loved the ending then hated it again. I missed my friends and wanted them back.
Now I'm on my first re-read, almost done with Song of Susannah, and I'm not wanting it to end again.
I guess on the positive side of things though,

For me, it didn't feel like an ending at all, but when i read it i skipped over him having

so i never felt PDTD, and i started a re-read straight away, mainly because i love the books so much, but another reason was i started The Gunslinger on August 22nd, and was without funds for a while so it took me so long to get it.

It doesn't matter whether you like the ending or not. not everything should have a happing or good ending. i wasn't thrilled about it, but read the last stanza of "Childe roland" and you'll see that it was the right ending.

back to my first point, i almost choked someone a week after i finished. I was reading the new Crichton novel while waiting for the bell at school, and some friends showed up and wanted to start a hack circle. one of them got to where i got pissed at him, so when i get a serve, i hit the hack three times and busted him in the throat. he was eatin' a honey bun at the time.
