Oh yeah, I read Preacher. It's only one of my top five series ever.

Big town's got its losers, small town's got its vices...
My only warning is this: IF you are a very religous person and dislike sacreligeous material, this is NOT the story for you. You would be better off buying porn instead... it would be less offensive. Personally, Preacher is one of my all time faves along with Ennis's run on The Punisher.

Gothic was...eh. It started with some really interesting stuff I'd like to see incorporated into the 3rd Batman movie:
Spoiler:.
None of the mobsters were any I recognized though. No Maroni, Falcone, Skeevers, etc. The villain himself was good, until
Spoiler:
The above leads into the villain's backstory

I have nothing against magic like that; its just that it really came out of the left field.
Does anyone know which X-Men crossover/compilation comes right before Messiah Complex?
Also - does Cable - Messiah War take place before, during, or after MC?

When two fit, it makes you think
I got the cute one, my woman
She says, "Lovin's all I bring"
And it's her loving that's a wonderful thing.
Lovin' yes we are, it's such a wonderful thing
When two fit it makes you think
See us both in the black
She lays on me so relaxed.

Excellent, thank you sir!
Now go make me some pancakes.
I recently finished Daredevil: The Man without fear volume 3.
Quite an interesting story. The focus is on a journalist character getting to grips with his fear, and a traumatised little boy who is unresponsive. The art is interesting too in that it's the kind of comic art I dislike at first glance but when you get into the story you realise it works very very well.
Apart from that I continue to read 2000 AD each week (just finished next weeks issue actually. Subscribers usually get it the Saturday before.) There've been some good stories the last few weeks, this week's weren't bad.
We had the finale to a saucy Judge Dredd tale: The Performer. (It concerns the Sex Olympics. Oo-er.) Rather rude and very funny.
Second came a sci-fi horro tale, Zombo. It involves a bunch of crash survivors on a Death Planet with a human zombi hybrid in their midst. Lots of black humour.
Third is a Slaine mini-series 'The Gong Beater'. It's essentially a celtic fantasy. Think of Conan with a celtic flavour with humour and you're not far wrong.
CradleGrave, basically a Northern England urban horror story. Slow burning but it's been pretty good so far.
Finally Savage, essentially an invasion story set in an alternative present. The UK has been taken over by a fascist East european state, The Volgans. (Russians with a fascist flavour although they're not called that.) The story follows Bill Savage, a freedom fighter/terrorist and his battle against Volgan oppression. It's a long running strip (originally called Invasion) that started decades ago during the cold war period. It's not bad.
Oh, I love DD:MWoF V3. An excellent story.

That was the first Daredevil story Benids ever wrote, and he later came back to do my favorite work of his on Daredevil.

I'm currently reading Y: The Last Man vol. 1. Very interesting story.

i have never read a dark tower comic (or any comic for that matter). As an uber fan i felt it could only turn my mind away from the books. now, having glanced at some of your comments, i feel it is time i looked at the comics. I should overcome my fear of dissapointment. But i still cant help but think....
can you beat perfection? can you match it? can you even come close?

Well, the comics aren't perfection, but they are good. They're worth picking up, IMHO. Check out the Comic Catalog for the covers and some interior artwork. You can get a feel for what they look like.
If you want to start out - you can pick up the Gunslinger Born GN at amazon.
Yes, just Maus and Maus II. They're both excellent, but the first is my favorite.
I'm glad you liked Maus. I've recommended it to many people, and have never had someone say they didn't think it was good.

MAUS is one of those books that transcends the world of comicdom. It isn't just a book that uses the comics medium, it is an emotional, powerful tale that forces the reader into places they often would rather have never visited. MAUS should be required reading for high schools all over the nation.

I've done it. For better or worse, the first 3 comics are on their way to my home right now.

Flagg - sounds familiar but I'm sure I've never read them. Are they individual issues, or are they GNs?

I've been rereading the Umbrella Academy (1st mini and first three issues of the second)
as much as I dislike My Chemical Romance, I have to say that Gerard Way writes himself a hell of a comic book.
