    During the second round of The Great Movie Tournament, please vote for one film you would like to move onto the next round. The top film will be moving on. Keep in mind that the percentage of the vote a given film receives will determine its standing going forward.

    Hate to vote against Hitchcock, but Wizard of Oz is such a classic.

    I think both Dracula and Frankenstein are far more influential than The Wizard of Oz.

    I didn't mean influential, although a strong case can be made but it's late in the day for such things. I meant that probably no film has inserted itself into our (the world as a whole) lives more, whether for good or bad, than TWoO. You can argue that's influence I suppose so I guess we just disagree.
    The Cowardly Lion's costume sold at auction for over 3M and I didn't know this but it is made of real lion fur.
    The last time a pair of slippers sold, it was 2M.
    The Wicked Witch's hat sold for a quarter of a million some years back.
    It's influence is present in The Dark Tower as well, of course Dracula and Frankenstein have had a bigger influence on King but maybe not for folks not so much into horror, I think TWOO has impacted more lives.

    To me, in my limited experience, great art (subjective I know) always has it's detractors and I like that. If you hate something, it has elicited an emotion, if art has a purpose I think the bringing about of emotions is it. If it bored you or did absolutely nothing, then it has failed as art.
