    I also voted Miracle on 34th Street. I remember watching The Maltese Falcon back in high school (35-40 years ago!) and at the end it was all a fake! What a gyp. Fake falcon = no vote!

    Maltese Falcon, Huston's debut, Sydney Greenstreet's debut at age 63, Peter Lorre as the weird queer character was masterful casting, possibly Mary Astor's best performance (she has a lot of credits and I know I have not seen them all) and Elisha Cook Jr. who was good in everything. Was Huston the first to have characters laugh in the face of great misfortune or miscalculated glory? Common theme for him
