    If you're talking about his um... controversies, then yes.

    But his films are generally pretty great. Repulsion in particular is one of his stronger offerings and doesn't get mentioned enough.

    I'm really shocked and saddened to see One, Two, Three bow out in the first round. I think it also didn't fare well in our Best Comedy tournament. It's hilarious! Is it just that most people haven't seen it? But how is that possible? I thought this was a beloved classic.

    I certainly love it but I don't think it is as widely watched as some of Wilder's other films (Sunset Blvd. Double Indemnity, Some Like it Hot, Ace in the Hole, etc.). Something that might throw some people is the speed of the film. The dialogue is lightening fast. I think I read somewhere that Cagney stopped making films for 20 years after this one because it was such a chore to memorize all those lines and to say them so damn fast.

    And Viridiana is such a transgresive film. The ending was censored but Bunuel interpreted the ending he was made to replace the original with as being even more salacious as a metaphor and liked it better.
