Loved The China Syndrome, but not at the expense of The Bad News Bears. I was 11 when I saw it - the shock and awe of seeing kids behave so brazenly on screen was a revelation to me. Just loved it. This one holds strong memories.

I was probably 8 years old when I first saw The Bad News Bears. This was back in the day when parents would drop kids off at the movie theater for 4-5 hours to sit in front of whatever "movie appropriate for kids" was showing. Which meant anything "G" or "PG" rated. For me, that was an endless stream of Disney (animated and live action), Pink Panther movies, James Bond movies, war movies (Midway), Young Frankenstein, and...Smokey and the Bandit and The Bad News Bears. If my mom knew the language in those she would have pitched a fit! But, hey, the "PG" rating got me in the door, her none the wiser.

So I'd watch The Bad News Bears 10 times before getting around to The China Syndrome again. CS is a good movie for sure, but BNB just rocked it.

The Bad News Bears ruined life for Little League coaches everywhere, when all the players started demanding beer in the dugout cooler!
Alright, we'll call it a draw.
