It's the two '79 movies for me.

Caligula is definitely a fascinating film. Not because of all the hardcore porn scenes, but just the entire production and release, and all the various versions. And that it was written by one of the greatest American writers, Gore Vidal. There was a documentary I saw on YouTube recently on the efforts to restore the film fully and looks like now it's done-ish:

I remember scheming to watch a copy of that film back in HS. It was a HUGE deal back then if you'd seen it or had a friend who had a copy. It was the '70's male teenager film to watch!!! lol lol

In retrospect, I probably should have voted for it, but I guess I really didn't consider what a HUGE film it was back in the day. at least in my circle of friends and perverts. lol

That's right. I totally for got that it was produced by "Penthouse magazine". Who was it? Roddy McDowell that it featured or am I mis-remembering. That was a looonnnggg time ago!!! Gotta say though, "Being There" is an under rated classic featuring, Peter Sellers. Himself, a somewhat under valued comedic actor. Those, Pink Panther" films are pure gold and as hard and as much as, Steve Martin tried he could never match the master himself.


Edit: Oops!!! That;s right it was, Malcolm McDowell!!! Don't know why I have always confused the two actors. He of "A Clockwork Orange" fame. Seemed like, Malcolm always went for those kinda "Out there" films and roles. Sort of like, Johnny Depp does. Especially, when he hooks up with his favorite Director, Tim Burton.

Sad to see Caligula looking to bow out. Honestly, if you think it's just a porn movie, check out that documentary I posted above. Fascinating!
