I personnally wouldnt be surprised that the publisher put forward their small and independant bookstores / partners before sending copies to Amazon
I doubt that they rely heavily on Amazon, except maybe for this title

Yeah, smaller booksellers have shipped it and Amazon doesn't even have it yet. I guess they would have printed and sent out all at the same time? Not hold off on Amazon for a month. Seams strange…
