Along those lines, and always in good faith...
I had previously threatened nominating Terrifying Girls' High School: Lynch Law Classroom (1973), and then considered perhaps Cloistered Nun: Runa's Confession (1976) or Delinquent Girl Boss: Worthless to Confess (1971). But a better representative of the Japanese pinky violence genre is Female Prisonor #701: Scorpion (1972). As far as I’m concerned it’s one of the the best the genre has to offer. Is it one of the best 256 films of the 1970s? Objectively, no, of course not. But goddamn if it’s not entertaining as hell. So I’m nominating it just to put it on the radar of folks who want to seek out something a bit off the beaten track. I’m not expecting it to be seconded, and I’m fine with that.
But in the interest of expanding horizons, if you are not familiar with the genre, just watch the trailer. Seriously. It tells you everything you need to know. (The trailer is age-restricted so it seems I can’t embed it).

The Last House on the Left
It's only a movie
It's only a movie
It's only a movie....
I second Young Frankenstein and nominate Soylent Green - 1973 - Richard Fleischer
Spoiler:
Looking for Suntup Brother ARC and Suntup Seed ARC
I read it a few years ago after I saw the movie. I liked the book, but liked the movie more. I can see how it would be pretty scary for a young person's first foray into horror, though. I didn't like how almost every chapter of the book ended with an exclamation. "And then there was a strange sound!"
A NEW GAME BEGINS
I second Soylent Green
