    I'm really bummed that Get Out is going to lose to Mad Max. I tried to watch it but just couldn't get into it. Is it not just nonstop action from beginning to end? Is there any substance to the film other than being a fun visual display? At least that's the impression I got from members here when I posted about it when it first came out .

    I think there is a lot of substance. The film has major themes of female empowerment.

    Mad Max has more substance than any action movie I've seen, and it's very understated and done through visuals.

    I love it more each time I watch it.

    Yup. People that say it's just an action movie are missing a lot of what makes that film special. The action actually helps tell the story, in subtle ways as you mentioned Matt.

    Should I attempt to give it another shot. I swear I came on here and asked about it when I first tried to watch it and thought you guys told me it was nonstop action from beginning to end and wouldn't be my thing, but maybe I'm confused
