Manchester by the Sea with 2 votes? What's that about? I thought that was one of those films that audiences and critics liked equally.

Yes, love that movie. But I was thinking of Manchester by the Sea, since we were the only two to vote for it.

Some really great films will fall off quickly: Thoroughbreds, The Double, Amour. No way around that with these large groups, alas.

I'm surprised no one else has voted for Manchester by the Sea. Where's the two people that nominated and seconded it?

And maybe there's hope that The Double will move on. It only needs a couple more votes and there should be quite a few more people voting.

Yes, and it's streaming free here: https://www.popcornflix.com/watch/ch...liw-the-double Such a cool movie!

In the past we've averaged around 25-30 votes per poll (sometimes as high as 31 or 32), so there are still some votes out, hopefully we can keep our levels of participation.

It will get my vote. I haven't voted yet. I loved that film. I'm not sure how you can't connect with a film where a dude

I watched Thoroughbreds last night. I watched the TV show "Stitchers" where one of the characters had the same affliction of not being able to feel any emotions, so I was familiar with the concept and interested to see how it would be portrayed in the movie.

I missed the first couple of minutes and I think it was slightly edited for language but I'm not sure how much of a difference that made. It was OK but I didn't like it well enough to vote for it here.

I'm also not a big fan of the camera shots where they just leave the camera in one place for like 5 minutes and have the actors move around in front of it. They did the same thing a lot in A Ghost Story. Reminds me too much of the Paranormal Activity movies where you just watch the screen waiting for something to eventually happen.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?
