Damn, shoulda known better than to take a 4 day detox from the internet over this long weekend! I was fooling myself thinking there'd still be nominations open when I got back
Still, I think we all did a phenomenal job at getting most of the essentials on there.I have very little complaints.
Going to be a great tournament!
Damn, Matt, I would've seconded The Help!

A NEW GAME BEGINS
Prometheus was seconded, it's on the list.
Damn, looks like I missed your nom. I would've seconded it for sure. Not a perfect film, but it completely blew me away the first time I saw it. It was probably one of the films of the decade that I thought about and discussed the most.
A NEW GAME BEGINS
Prometheus was a sore spot for me. It made some unfortunate story choices and it squandered its massive potential. Scott should have picked a lane and stuck with it.
I went to Iceland and HAD NO idea the opening was filmed at the greatest water fall there. I remember doing the hike, getting to the end and BOOM I was blown away and for some reason I found it so amazing I was standing on the same spot. I went home and watched it again. I feel the same way you do.
HELP ME FIND
Insomnia #459
ANY S/L #459
I'm kind of and not really surprised all three John Wicks got in.
Looking for Suntup Brother ARC and Suntup Seed ARC
I had 51 seconded entries from 52 nominations. Not a bad result and I'm happy with that.
I had a better ratio in the 90's tournament though, 57 / 57.
I have a feeling that most of the ones that I adore will be out after the first round. Fingers crossed a few can survive, but I'm just not big on a lot of films that others here love.
And Ricky, I can't believe I forgot about Krampus and Frankenweenie! I love both of those.
Only the gentle are ever really strong.
Out of the 50 or so I nominated, only 2 sis not make it in. I am happy with that.

It's someone's alt account since he/she has made all but one of his/her posts in the tournament threads. And it's odd that you were sure the first one to pipe up when I made the claim a few days ago with your "they?" comment. I'm not the only person who's noticed this as I remember it coming up in other movie tournament threads as well.
IP addresses can easily be spoofed. And I'm sure it's a coincidence that out of 12 noms made by Red Balloon, you've seconded 8 and that the only ones that Red_Balloon seconded in 2010 were your noms. Plus 6/10 in the 1990s tourney.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?
Saying someone has an extra member ID is a serious charge. Even more serious for a staff member (who didn't have advance permission). Although Red_Balloon, and T-Dogz_AK47 might know each other, I see no direct evidence that Red_Balloon is in fact an account used by T-Dogz_AK47.
I agree with the two films of Nichols that went in. As much as I like Mud and Loving, they're just not at the same level of Midnight Special and Take Shelter. I actually wrote out Mud's nomination twice before changing my mind to Nocturnal Animals and While We're Young
Ricky, Philomena is one of the films I totally forgot scor like Tge Help. Moneyball was another one I'm glad someone nominatdatv the end. Weird I forgot about that one when I just recently watched it.
Also TO EVERYONE: it's not in the tournament, but watchMaudie. It's a truly wonderful film starring Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke.

Also if people are interested, I thought it would be fun to make a prediction pool for fun, where we predict the top 16/8/4/2/winner of the tournament.
