It's pretty awesome, check it out on Prime. I described it as a mashup of the original Twilight Zone, Contact, and the Welcome to Night Vale podcast.
Yeah, I thought I was familiar with most of the good stuff that 2019 had to offer. I really don't know much about this one. A surprising entry.
I highly recommend it. It did have a Twilight Zone feel to it. It also reminded me of those old radio shows. Plus I really loved the way that it was filmed.
We definitely do not have the same taste in movies. Vast of Night is boring. Nothing happens for 1.5 hours. It shouldn’t be in this contest BUT we all have different tastes. You probably don’t want half my noms.

That's unfortunate that you didn't like it. I was really riveted. I could watch Fay operate that switchboard for 1.5 hours alone! The way she knew everyone in town and how everyone connected. And just all lines and dialogues were exceptional. That long conversation the two of them have starting at the high school and then ending up when talking about magazines writing about future technology. That was pure writing and acting genius! And like Heather mentioned, the camerawork here was exceptional, beautiful long shots. This is clearly a very low budget movie but it looks like a regular Hollywood production. Loved it!

That is true I'm sure there's probably a few movies we agree on though, but I guess I'm not surprised that it's not your type of film. I do hope others give it a chance. The film work alone is worthy, and I agree with Mae, the acting by the two leads was phenomenal.
