This King adaptation deserves it! One of the better movies by far!

Aside from Shawshank, it's probably one of the most well regarded King adaptions.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?

I too not a fan of the Kingitis that runs rampant in this forum sometimes, but Stand By Me deserves all the accolades it gets.

Just watched Stand By Me again the other day. It's great. It doesn't need the supposed "King effect." I voted ET in every other poll, so it's close for me. I think I just identify with the melancholy running through Stand By Me more than the "awe shucks" sense of wonder in ET.

Yeah - strange how much pro-King feeling can be found among people who like to discuss King's work - it's almost like...more than coincidence? If only we knew why...

I think he's referring to the fact that it might skew some of our tournament results as many people here may lean towards a SK adaption over some other movie for the simple fact that we are all big fans.

I don't think it's a surprise that it happens but I'm sure it's affected a few poll results.

    Do you think?

You picked up on that too?

I'm just having fun with the fact that, every now and then, someone expresses genuine head-scratching wonder at King fanhood among King fans, like Mr. Burns discovering nuclear waste at his nuclear power plant. How can this be? How unexpected!
