The Fly is a tremendous film, probably one of Cronenberg's best of his career, while ET is certainly good but not Spielberg's best even in the '80s. I'm honestly shocked to see The Fly on the losing end right now given that we're on a Stephen King forum and most are horror fans. And The Fly transcends horror even. It's a complete masterpiece.

I can't get past Cronenberg's fascination with Jeff Goldblum's body. Come to think of it, Jeff is kind of self obsessed as well. I get it, you worked out for the film. All kidding aside, I do enjoy it, but not in the way I first experienced ET.

Cronenberg, scifi, and the Goldblum. Three great things to have packaged under one film.

It's probably going to be knocked out here, but how about that poster art? Conveys so much in that one shot.
What the hell happened here? It hasn't happened yet.

Did everyone see the E.T. "sequel"?

Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?

The poll has closed. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial moves on and The Fly is eliminated.
