I messaged him to ask about it and he said it was damaged. He put way to much value in a replaceable DJ. Now I don't feel so bad for him.

Same thing that happened to me with 217. I would say 99% would not say and just buy the book. I’ll never understand why anyone would think it’s the buyers duty to inform someone what to sell their item for. Maybe if it was a friend... but a faceless Entity? Nope.

After reading all these comments, my Nephew will be getting a schooling this weekend on King collecting! I am afraid he will be taken advantaged by unscrupulous book dealers/collectors. If you are interested, John Grisham wrote two books on this.

Glenn, just for interest sake... you would not have bought that Slinger? I know you need one.... and is a big want for you. Are you stating that given that chance at the $2000 price point you would NOT have bought it but rather informed him that it is too low a price?

Actually, the first printing of this reprint had a number line starting with 3. It was/is thought to be due to a layout error when the books where published. I believe BJF at CD suggested the publisher may have used the file for the third printing of the trade softcover to work from when publishing the hardcover. So the first printing had a 3 and the second printing had a 2 and I suppose (?) the third printing also has a 3 making it difficult to tell the difference between a first and third printing of this edition.

Well, I ordered mine the day they were announced on Amazon as did many here and everyone received a third printing. To date, I don't believe a first print with a 1 in the number line has been accounted for and I believe becca69 contacted the publisher and had it confirmed that it was a mistake. There was a long discussion about it on the Stephen King Collecting Questions thread.

Anyone that remembers all this, please correct me if I got something wrong.
