The Catalog (as always) is your friend...
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
Well... if anyone has an extra $15K lying around... This place is selling a IT set. It was all inscribed to John MacDonald (famous author that King looked up to and is dead now). His grandson is selling a 1st inscribed AND what I would die to own... the red Viking proof in damm near perfect shape... FULL OF KING'S HANDWRITING AND CHANGES. I had a long talk with the chap and well... he is a odd duck. He deals with movie stars and what not. I think anyone that had this would love it but I think it is a $5K-$7500 set. When I told this chap that (he is a know it all) he asked me if I had heard of the movie and that they are making a second. Amazing though what you can find out there eh? Cheers

Kris, thanks for letting us all know about this one, but I could not find the listing on the website. I'm a huge fan of MacDonald and believe he wrote the intro to Night Shift, plus all of the great Travis McGee novels. What a great association copy of IT, along with the proof, to own. I'd give just about anything, except . . . $15,000.00. In looking at the other King items he has for sale on his website, he certainly values King highly (as we all do), but 325.00 for a "Fine" copy of Christine except for the "slight pulling away at the spine crown." Wow, is he pricey, but he does have some cool stuff.
Kris, thanks for the pics and for sharing. Who wouldn't want to have that IT proof with all of King's edits? Awesome!
That would be a dream of mine but the guy was VERY know it all and would interrupt me every time I spoke. He basically told me I know nothing about pricing and it will sell for the $15K. I said maybe to a movie star with a smile to my words and politely let him go. OH! This guy knew nothing about a Plant Set and DT matching set and to coin his phrase.. "What is a NLR anyways?" LOL Nice guy and all... but I would have taken a loan out at $5K-75K + to own that.
