I've been watching this. I have the feeling that the reserve is pretty high, though.
John
Supposedly 78 copies. Do they have them all?
The last time he tried to sell this it did not make the reserve. 13 bids at a maximum of $127.82

Shibus sold one at the same time for £175.99

Yeah, I've asked about these Six Stories pages on the forum last week. This must be at least the tenth time I've seen a copy for sale in the last couple of months. Why are they all popping up right now?
I've got a soft spot for SIX STORIES so I had been keeping my eye on it.
The last time it didn't meet reserve I sent the seller a note to see if he was interested in working something out (bad form I know, but what can I say).
They have the reserve set at $700. Good luck with that.

That's insane. You could almost get the actual Six Stories book for that price.
I won one of those on Ebay over two years ago - I paid $103, and it was a different seller to the one selling the latest batch.
I'd say $103 is a VERY good price. $700 is NOT a very good price.
Too rich for me. I'll pass.
John
The first Blockade Billy 2nd state ARC I've seen on eBay.
I'll pass. I think a starting bid of $99 is too high. And - dig this - I've come to the conlusion that I'm just not that interested in proofs that have the trade cover art!
I think it will go for more than the initial $99 price.
John
So fare there are still no bids on it.

Yeah, I should have made myself more clear: I meant that the starting bid was too high for me. I'm sure it will sell - and for more than $99. But I'm still in the phase that I have to make choices: what to collect and what not to collect? And I do feel that CD's ARCs are little more than softcover versions of the trade HC. I know this is a slightly wacky perspective but since I can't yet afford to be a true completist, I'd rather spend my money on 'true proofs'
Everyone has to define their collecting in the best way they can. Otherwise it is not a unique collection, just a lot of random books (or whatever).
Still....I have heard that they only did about 60 of these proofs with the pictorial covers (versus 16 of the plain cover). So I suspect both will be in pretty high demand for a while.
I agree. Collect what you want. If it doesn't interest you, don't bother with it.
John
If I had a higher income I'd go for this ARC too but I'm not yet in that position financially so my choices at the moment are partly based on gut feeling (raw 'attraction' of a book) and partly on my sense of aesthetics (I do like it better when a proof is a truly different state of a book as opposed to a paperback with trade cover art). I realize that this one is probably going to be fairly scarce but hey... wait 'til you see what I'm going to post in the Pride & Joy thread in the near future...
This Drawing of the Three ARC is listed with a very nice starting bid of $1.99!
Go forth and bid, ye proof lovers!
Can't wait to show and tell!
This seller has DT V, VI, and VII signed/limiteds #1122 for sale. The starting bids are $99.99 each - the reserve price hasn't been met but according to the seller it should be fairly low.
UK Under the Dome proof
There were only 200 numbered copies of this done. This is copy #155.
John
I'm watching it
I think this is pretty cool ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT
