Hey All - I just wanted to toss out a word of thanks for all the links you've been posting.
I have the ebay searches set up for myself, but often, you all find things that somehow don't get captured under my search criteria.
I just wanted to you know that all the effort hasn't gone un-noticed!
Thanks again!

Congratulations Juliana. Very nice pickup.
Ari is right about the "dog ate" story.
A few months ago, one of those paperweights showed up on Ebay. I placed a bid and also contacted the seller to see if they would sell it out right. They agreed to sell it to me and closed the auction.
A few more bidders showed up during our conversations back and forth but the seller pulled the auction. I'm getting excited thinking they are letting me have it at the agreed price. We didn't hear anything from them for a few days.
After a few attempts to contact them, they finally responded to me as well as a couple other members here with this story: "we had the paperweight on a table, our dog decided to use it as a chew toy and now its ruined". End of story.
You really did get a great acquisition.
Enjoy it

Thanks guys. Sorry Gretchen and John. To tell you the truth, I would have gone much higher than that.
Geez...of all the things the dog can chew. It's doesn't seem to be a small item either. More like a large coffee mug.
Have you tried the recent digi-cams John?.
My hands shake a fair bit, see if you can try one of those gorgeous little Canon Ixus cameras in-store somewhere, they have optical image stablizers (cam adjust to compensate for the shake) so it really doesn't matter if your hands wobble.
I think I saw a pic and it's a small item, Juliana. I don't remember where, but Bob can confirm/deny that.

No sweat, Juliana - I'm glad it was you! I debated about adding some $ on, but with the new house and moving - let alone that my OLD house isn't sold yet - I just couldn't do it right now. Next one's mine, though!
This collecting stuff is a sickness! ~Patrick
I'm so looking for one
So now we know Hutch, Bob and Juliana have one.

... and yet another UTD Review Copy with a BIN price of $600! (Best Offer possible though).
... and another one... (this one says it's an ARC but the description states it's a hardcover. No picture available).
I really can't understand anyone paying very much money for one of those. I think after the book comes out we can make our own if we so desire. Buy a hardcover, throw the dj away, print out a little label with the ISBN number on it and stick it on the back of the book. Voila! An "ARC"!
