Love all the ones listed. Pale Rider is certainly on that list for me. I love that Bone Tomahawk was mentioned. A really good recent Western with a twist.

Bone Tomahawk is really good but I will never watch that again, ha! That one scene did me in, holy shit!

Hell or High Water and No Country for Old Men also count according to IMDb.

Hell or High Water and No Country for Old Men are modern Westerns for sure. My Western lists usually only consider period piece Westerns.

I became freaking obsessed with Westerns after I read The Gunslinger at the ripe ole age of 17. I had the Netflix disc-based service back then and I musta watched all of Eastwood's westerns in the span of a month. Just couldn't get enough.

To this day I still love Westerns and although it's a relatively dying breed I still get excited when modern offerings are released. 3:10 to Yuma, The Proposition, True Grit, Bone Tomahawk. It's all groovy baby.

Great story behind this one with Kevin Costner. Costner was supposed to be seen in flashbacks in The Big Chilll (he played the corpse, Alex) but was edited out the film entirely. Lawrence Kasdan felt so bad about it that he cast him in Silverado.

Costner is technically in some other westerns - Dances with Wolves (some consider it a western) and currently he's in Yellowstone on tv.

He was also in Open Range with Robert Duvall, which was pretty good. It's pretty standard fare, so a lot of people don't talk about it much.

Well, still under 50% seen of what is left, but I have seen 56 or so of those left. But I had only seen 9 of the ones eliminated.

There are about 16 that I would consider watching before they are eliminated, if I find them for free.

Just subscribed to Disney+. Anyone know if there are any movies still in the tournament that are available on Disney+? I am guessing there aren't.

Thanks, I should have thought of the Muppet Movie. I already added the Muppet Show to my watchlist. I have the first 3 seasons on DVD, but they never released the last 2.

I am often tempted by clickbait, so clicked on a top 25 list of westerns. I have only seen 4 on the list. Was surprised that only 3 Clint Eastwood films made the list (#1,#3, #5) (although maybe he is in some of the others, and I just didn't recognize it as a CE movie).

Clearly the 70s was my wheel house - of the 128 remaining, I have not seen only 7 films. It was 8, but I watched Forbidden Planet last weekend - thanks to those who recommended it. It freaked my wife and kids out, but I thought it was pretty freaking cool.

Top 64 films of the decade? Really?

Star Trek: The Motion Picture ?
    Logan's Run ?
    King Kong ?
Monty Python's The Life of Brian ?
    Superman ? - Sorry Kris
    Westworld ?

    That's just at first glance.

So many truly great films gone bye bye.

The eliminated list is so loaded with great films. I know it's probably my age, but I will reiterate my belief that the 1970s remains the best decade of films.

Yeap, the 70's for me too, with maybe the 90's right behind it.
