I am one of the few that thought NCFOM deserved its Oscar, but for the sheer scope, detail and magnitude I would be extremely disappointed if LOTR didn't win it.

BTW, maybe its good to get this discussion out of the way, but the LOTR will be entered as the entire trilogy and not 3 distinct films for the competition, yes?

The 2000s was a great decade of movies. But you can say that about literally any decade, honestly. I have tons of titles I'd love to nominate.

Movies from the 70’s and not a single one I can think of before then I just can’t watch old movies... not sure why

The ones u mentioned... alll my list would be there.... it’s weird I know. I’m a die hard movie buff too. Go every week and make a 2 hour drive a couple times a summer to go to an authentic drive in....

Thanks - I'll just have to wait it out. I really do think that the 1970s produced the best crop of movies we will ever see in a 10 year span. It was a true golden age of film, especially American film.

I appreciate all you do to organize this. I'll have to check out some of your 70s foreign films.
