You're a lot better off then me. I have only seen 64, and only heard of 157 of them.

However, one could make the argument that this will be the last tournament for a while in which we see a turn out like this. The other decades are packed with some truly amazing films, but there just aren't going to be as many people itching to get their films nominated. There are quite a few 60s films that I adore, but I can't put together a list of 300 films like I did for the 90s. Of course, I continue to watch films from older decades, but I won't be able to watch them fast enough.

I could be wrong, but we have to really enjoy this tournament and the member response that will come along with it.
Looking forward to the challenge of the 60s and 70s in particular.
Yeah somehow I just can't see people ferociously debating films in the 1940's and below when most of us weren't born yet

I'll be here for it though!

Of the 320 films in the tournament, I've seen 270 of them. My guess is only Mae has a better number, but I could be wrong.

I think I've seen 137. Out of the ones I haven't seen there's a few that I've been wanting to watch so I'll try to get to them before the competition begins. But there's also plenty there that I have zero desire to watch.

We're now about two weeks from the start of the tournament! Hope some of you have been able to check out something that's been nominated if you haven't seen it.

There's no way I'm getting to the 100+ films I haven't seen yet, so I was thinking it'd be cool for everyone to post their Top 10 favorites of the decade's nominations to help us prioritize what we might want to try and fit in before the voting starts.

Here's mine (in no particular order):

    1. Spotlight (2015), dir. Tom McCarthy
    2. The Witch (2015), dir. Robert Eggers
    3. The Hateful Eight (2015), dir. Quentin Tarantino
    4. Gravity (2013), dir. Alfonso Cuarón
    5. Coherence (2013), dir. James Ward Byrkit
    6. Midnight in Paris (2011), dir. Woody Allen
    7. Never Let Me Go (2010), dir. Mark Romanek
    8. Predestination (2014), dir. Michael and Peter Spierig
    9. Hush (2016), dir. Mike Flanagan
    10. Wild (2014), dir. Jean-Marc Vallée

    Honorable Mentions:

    1. Black Swan (2010), dir. Darren Aronofsky
    2. The Babadook (2014), dir. Jennifer Kent
    3. Molly's Game (2017), dir. Aaron Sorkin

I happened to catch The Magnificent Seven on TV the other day. I watched it and it was ok. Then I thought to check here to see if it was one of the films in the tournament. Turns out it wasn't even nominated.

I think I got it confused with The Hateful Eight, which I still haven't seen.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?

My top ten would be mostly block-busters that pretty much everyone has seen or heard of. But I have a few towards the top of my list that may be a little lesser known:

The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012)
    The Edge of Seventeen (2016)
    Inside Out (2015)
    Instant Family (2018 )
    Yesterday (2019)
    Room (2015)
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?
