Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?
Unbreakable is indeed that high, which is why it's at the top of Group 2. Pretty surprising, yeah, but it's a very beloved movie.

I guess?
Just for the heck of it, I looked up the Rotten Tomato scores for the top 6 movies here.
TDK = 94%
Unbreakable = 70%
LOTR:TTT = 95%
LOTR:TFotR = 91%
Batman Begins = 84%
LOTR:TRotK = 93%
One of these things is not like the others. One of these things just doesn't belong.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?
Unbreakable's current score doesn't necessarily mean much after the first round. Could be that it was in a weaker group where the other nominees weren't as compelling.

So the last bunch of poll for Round 2 just went up and I'd just like to take a quick second to thank everyone for continuing your great participation in this event. I hope everyone's enjoying it! Remember, it just gets more difficult from here on out
You're gonna tank us?! What'd we do to you?!
A NEW GAME BEGINS
Thank! Ugh where's that edit button...
I came across Secret Window today. I'm shocked it didn't make it into the tournament. It would have been a final 4 film.

That movie was pretty terrible. We'll have way more quality King adaptations in the 2010s tournament for sure, though. That will be... interesting.
When I vote, I always vote before I read any comments in the thread, and I don't look at the results first, so my votes are solely based on what I like and don't allow knowledge of the status to influence me. I also don't not vote for a movie I like a lot because I know it will get in anyway, so that I can vote for a movie that maybe needs some help.
But I see people asking to add or remove some votes to influence the outcome. Doesn't this go against the spirit of the tournament?
I mean its one thing to realize you forgot to vote for something you liked, but to add a vote to ensure something else doesn't move on seems unfair.
Just saying.

I agree of course, but either we allow people to fix their mistakes or add in a vote if they overlooked it, or we don't. I can't be making a judgement call, that too would be unfair.
Changing a vote here or there should be allowed, but not abused. It would be tough to regulate and say a person is only allowed two changed votes (just an example number) per tournament. If it came to that, then the there should be no changes allowed whatsoever. That or only God can change a vote.
Hey all! Happy It Day! Also, Round 2 is effectively over, with one last tiebreaker still lingering to be decided by Monday, which is when Round 3 will begin as well!
This is starting to get serious!
Mae, do we have a list of the films that have made it on and those eliminated in the last round somewhere?
Only the gentle are ever really strong.
Thanks for reminding me! Sorry, I worked a night shift yesterday and posted the first four polls of Round 3 and went to sleep. Will be updating this thread this evening with the lists!
Sounds good! And no rush

Apologies for the delay but here are the developments after the second round:

I cannot comprehend that through two rounds, so out of maximum 200%, Caché managed only 26.79%. Mind-blowing. Everyone must make it their next watch, if you haven't seen it!
Much to my surprise and delight, I actually found Cache at a used video game store over the weekend. Happy to add it to my collection. Looking forward to checking it out.
Other films I picked up that have current and past tournament ties are Being John Malkovich, In the Mouth of Madness, The New World, Gangster No. 1, and Chasing Amy.
I also found Spartan, which I believe I found on one of the lists you posted before the tournament.

In The Mouth of Madness is pure John Carpenterian goodness. Fuck I love that movie.
