Long time listener, first time caller - has any thought been put towards a mobile friendly version of the site? Apologies if this has been discussed prior, I haven't read through this thread before.
Cheers!

Being in this industry (I work for a company that specialises in Enterprise Mobility). I can tell you this is NOT a simple task. It would almost certainly require a complete redesign to make the site device and browser aware or the creation of a sub site specifically aimed at mobile browsers that you would be redirected to. I wouldn't count on this happening anytime soon.
I access the site on my iPhone quite a bit. You do need to zoom in and zoom out a fair amount, but moving back and forth through threads is easy. Tip: If you tap the top of the page, you will be quickly sent to the header where you can tap "unread posts" saves a lot of scrolling.
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

What size (pixels and file size) are you trying that used to work, but doesn't now?
They are all around 1MB and the largest is 2592x1944. I tried small files and they do work.
I seems to be working and then it hangs on http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/uploadphoto.php
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
The Gallery settings did not change. The max size image is 1920x1500 and a file size of 16000kb.

Here are the settings. They have not changed. That's not to say that I couldn't change (increase) them.
It only took me 9 days to get it fixed. Sorry for the delay.
Thanks man! That fixed my uploading issues as well!
I appreciate it Jerome. It makes it much easier to upload to the gallery.
I prefer to upload pics I use on this site to this site. There's less chance the link will end up broken that way too.

Has anyone been experiencing pop-ups from saferwEB? They started for me this morning but only on this site.
John
I haven't seen any. Check your browsers settings.
My Firefox settings are to block all pop-ups, but they are still showing up. I guess I'm going to have to call the Geek Squad.
<edit> When I use Internet Explorer, they don't appear.

John, go here and follow the instructions for Mozilla:
http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-safe-web-alliance.html
I use Malwarebytes. It's one of the best malware apps. There is a free version.

RF, that seems to have fixed the problem. THANKS VERY MUCH!
Brian, Is that safe to use? I'm always hesitant to load something new onto my computer.
John
They're safe. They are recommended by CNET, PCWorld, Major Geeks, etc.. In fact the website that Jerome referred you to recommends it. I've use it for years. You just have to make sure that you download the real program from the real website as there are phishing sites out there.
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
I downloaded and installed it. I hope it's okay!
John
I will 2nd (or 3rd?) Malwarebytes as well. It's very good and I've used it for years.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?
I, and others, have had, in "The Forge," failures embedding You Tube music videos . This was once a "sporadic" problem that became a "consistant" problem and has settled into an "occasional" problem. I have even tried You Tube's own sharing system when this site's e bedding system failed and did not meet with success.
Please advise and/or look into this.
Thank you.

All that's left of what we were is what we have become.
Make sure the video URL isn't from a secure server. https:// won't work, http:// will.
