Wow, David, you ARE Callahan! I love the way the 'light' shines on your/his face from the side. They're all absolutely beautiful, but I must agree that it's the best of the bunch. What an honor - congratulations!!
Oh - and the others are amazing as well!
This collecting stuff is a sickness! ~Patrick
That's it then, the greatest remarques in the history of all remarques...in fact, unless Whelan takes another guy's book and portrays him as either Roland, Eddie, or Flagg, I don't think it can be topped...Callahan represents a pivotal character, and now you're him!
Hopefully, your fate will be better - look out for zombies!
On another note, I wonder what this does to their value? I think any of the limiteds are worth as much as a lettered, and the lettered, well...
Nice stuff!
My favorites are The Temple of the Oracle and The Golgotha.

He had a light in his studio positioned so that it created that exact effect Gretchen. He said "WOW!, I am loving this shadow, and your jawline couldn't be more perfect for the effect I want." Michael told me it was a real shame that he didn't know me before book VII came out, because I was the true image of Callahan in his mind's eye and he would have used my image for Callahan in the book. He said he wished he could go back and change the book/update it. Needless to say, I nearly fainted dead away in his studio.
Dragline : Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me - with nothin'.
Luke : Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
Wow, that's quite a compliment, David!

Hey everyone,
Here is a remarque from Michael Whelan for the book Knowing Darkness: Artists Inspired by Stephen King. Michael also writes the following:
"Please advise your readers that I will be varying some aspects of
these over time [like i usually do] and that colors or media may
change over the span the remarques as i get them done, so
don't be TOO set on what is being represented here. I aint a
MacDonalds, and I intend to have some fun with them...but my feeling
is that variety is what makes each one unique, right?
I will be sending you some more, and as you get more and post them as
samples people will get an even better idea of what to expect."
Sweet!
wow!
Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think.

Does anyone have a picture of the following King doodle?
From Beahm's A to Z encyclopedia, at CelbrityDoodle, p36.
"To benefit the Back Alley Theatre, King sent in a doodle that sold at auction for $225 (the only known piece of published 'art' by King, who readily admitted, in an intrduction to a book collection of JK Potter's photographs, that he's no artist).
The cartoon shows a sun setting behind a tombstone bearing the words : Planet Earth/ Someone hit the wrong button/ July 11, 1992/ RIP
The sketch is dated June 23, 1987.
