Pet Sematary is the most horrific of all SK books IMO. I’ve read it more times than any other book. Likely will always be in my top five.

Really? No offense intended, but despite it's rather obvious direct input from, Poe a lot of other titles come to mind as more horrific, IMHO. Salem's Lot, Black House, Mr. Mercede's & The Shining for instance. Then again to each his own of course.

I think I would agree with BC. It's horrific in the sense that a family literally had to watch their son/brother die in front of their eyes and the father had to live with knowing that he was literally inches away from preventing it.

Sure kids die and pets die in other SK books but the way it happened in PS was just horrible.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?

I'm shocked to see Pet Sematary lose this round. I didn't know 11/22/63 was that popular.
