    It's a powerful, fun song, for sure. I'm a huge fan of both songs and both bands, by the way. But this is for the Finals. "Teen Spirit" is certifiably one of the best pieces of recorded media of all time.

    Dude, no other song in sports history is so closely linked as this one. Hell, they were there to honor him when he retired. And BTW, it's a great song!!!

    I think I've made my opinion of Metallica known in these discussions. It's not very high, to say the least.

    HOWEVER, I have to give credit where credit is due, and

    Metallica - Enter Sandman (1991)

    is simply a great song.

    As far as the Nirvana song goes--I prefer Weird Al's version. LOL

    Hmm...

    I can't vote in this match. Neither song is that bad, but each depresses me in its own way: while SLTS is the best that could be done by a pretty limited band, ES was a much more capable band's first stab at limiting itself.

    It is definitely more iconic but is it a better song? I had trouble with this vote too. I very nearly voted for Sandman. It came down to what you are saying about it being the defining moment of an entire movement in music. But really, is it a better song? I don't know....
