The first two time periods already have their playoffs decided. Read the Round 3 description on the first page and the preceding page contains the Top 24 for 1945-1949 and 1950-1954 after Rounds 1 and 2.

Wow, Queen is really dominating this time period. That's even with losing a couple of their songs in this last round.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?

I'm having a hell of a time narrowing down the choices. More often than not, I want to pick all 4 in each group.

So the last polls of Round 3 have just been posted. That means that if there won't be any tiebreakers in this last grouping of polls, the Playoffs will begin on Monday, August 1.

Now that we're pretty much through three very long rounds of many many polls, I wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone for participating in the tournament. We have a core group of about 15-20 voters and if we can stay the course to the end we will have accomplished something pretty cool, in my opinion. I doubt I'll run another tournament any time soon, as it's a lot of work behind the scenes on a nearly daily basis, but it's also a lot of fun for me as well. We're getting very unexpected results, and now heading into the playoffs I think we will really have some fun battles.

Super unexpectedly after three pre-playoff rounds the Red Hot Chili Peppers own the first spot in three different time periods (1990-1994, 1995-1999, and 2005-2009). Queen has two number one spots (1975-1979 and 1980-84).
