I couldn't find my post, but I believe that more than 75% of the people who receive a random copy will keep it.
4,800 x .25 = 1,200 available.
I'd say less, but there are a few people going to Reno that are guaranteed copies. Half the 400 in Reno will hit the market.
Agreed...it will be less than 25%...probably less than 20%.
I think we are looking at 15% tops.
3rd Signed copy is up on ebay (again....most likely obtained at CBS TM).

Have fun everyone!
Anyone going to Tulsa next week? I have an "extra" ticket. Wife doesn't want to go. If someone wants to attend they can come with me, but I keep the book.
Can't wait to hear details and pictures!
Probably neither.
He probably got multiple books signed, and he's posted a picture of King signing one of them...or a picture of King signing someone else's book.
I have no doubt he was there....I have seen Nick at two events personally.
Come on folks...the event in NJ must be over......no stories or pics???

WANTED
Signed 1st Edition of Storm of The Century (Paperback)
I was at the event, got home at 11:30 and started my "other job" at midnight...no sleep for me.
Event was PACKED! My son and I got on line outside at 6:40, doors opened at 6:30 and event at 7:30...there were people in line behind us at LEAST two football fields long! We got seated at 7:25 knowing event would start late...it did, at least 8pm start time.
King came out and spoke for an hour, told stories/jokes, about half I had heard before but some new ones thankfully. He was engaging, witty, but looked pretty old to me. He then took pre-printed questions from the audience and answered about 10 of those...then show over. They were militant about giving out books afterward...one per person with a stamped hand. I had taken a member here's email seat assignment and tried desperately to get him his two books but event people flatly refused and I only got a book for myself and my son...BOTH UNSIGNED.
I'm at my other job so no pics...my son took a few with his phone but we were in row Y so not close to stage. Still a decent time but no signed copies.
Dragline : Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me - with nothin'.
Luke : Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
You have to know how to "talk" to Nick. I'd never buy at listed priced but he can be talked down.
I have at least 17 people on my wait list....so far I have 8 signed books lined up....getting there.
I agree that prices will start WAY HIGH and then come down quickly as more copies begin to flood eBay.
Dragline : Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me - with nothin'.
Luke : Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
Wow, what a mission - still don't know how you live this life on such few hours sleep. Bummer about the unsigned books, but sound like a great experience nonetheless. At least there were no obvious skimming of the signed books from staff (that you could see, at least)?.
WORD Bookstore people were nice but efficient...From look at the two queues to hand out books at the end and boxes they were pulling from on the floor, it looked like a random hand-out of books...I believe no skimming took place.
I took $$ with me but I think it a bit rude and tacky to approach people to say "Want to sell your book if it is signed?" I'm just NOT that type of guy, so my son and I exited theater and headed for the car.

AH! I could have seen you!! Can you find yourself in the crowd shot from his page?
Did any of you manage to score a signed copy for yourselves last night?
Krystal, do you have the link for the crowd shot? I was probably right behind you... I tried to stand up and look but the event started right after we sat down. I didn't want to wait in that line so my husband and I got some food and then walked around. We eventually got in it at 7:20 but the line was still never ending. We were told not to worry as they wouldn't start until everyone was seated.
It was fun. King was in good spirits. Some of the stories have been told but many I heard for the first time. We were the last group to exit the theatre and I went upstairs to the restroom. The line was so long that by the time I got out most of the crowd had left. We decided on the left side book table and my husband was handed a (signed) copy and I asked to pick from the stack. I'm good at seeing the flapped copies so I managed to get one too. Overall a fun night.
