Feel free to use my avatar as well. I am so saddened by this news. Bill was the first member to really reach out to me. We had a number of really meaningful discussions about the website and the collecting in my early days, even if he does refer to me as a Red "Sux" fan. We have always been able to put aside our baseball rivalry to form our cyber friendship. My prayers for a speedy recovery are with you my Yankee friend.

Just a very quick update - Bills' son says that, although he's still sedated, he is doing good. They'll know more within a day or so after some more tests but at this point they expect a good (but rather long) recovery. He's continuing to put one foot in front of the other........
Just my opinion, but, along with the concern everyone is showing, I think Bill would appreciate your humor as much as anything ...... like "Why the Haven Whore is laying down on the job...?" LOL!!!

Good news regarding Bill there, Dick. Thanks for letting us know. And I agree - he would definitely appreciate some humour when he's back reading this thread.
This is shocking news. Bill and I haven't always seen eye-to-eye, but he is a very valued member of this community and has been for quite some time. Besides, us Yankees fans have to stick together.
I will be sending him a get well card tomorrow morning. I have some Yankees cards that I'm sure he will get a kick out of.
I hope he gets well soon. This place isn't the same without him.
