No thread for Anne Rice. Huh.

Interested in opinions: we just purchased our first B.E. Trice limited edition: a marked Presentation Copy of MEMNOCH THE DEVIL. Any future in these?

I don't think there is any future in the Trice limited editions. If by "any future" you mean significant appreciation in value to collectors. Britton Trice stopped publishing them because he couldn't sell them (towards the end, anyway).

    I agree with Bob.
If you are careful and patient, you can find most of them for $100 or less.
Unless her market has a huge rebound, collect them because you like them, not as investments.

I'm finally cleaning out and trying to put together a couple of bins of stuff to sell -
found this not very good copy of what I read is a rare printing of Lestat. But it has some significant problems. Any value? Would you call it "fair" condition?

A while ago I stumbled across three perfect, unread paperback copies from Frank Herbert's Dune saga. They were published by New English Library in the late 80s I believe. They have very distinctive cover art and I would like to find nice copies of the remaning three books. I have God Emperor of Dune, Heretics of Dune and Chapterhouse: Dune so I'm missing the first three (Dune, Dune Messiah and Children of Dune). Below is the cover of God Emperor of Dune (not my copy, mine is far better):

    Anyone?

Also, does anyone know if there's a good online source for the various Dune reprints throughout the years? I'd like to find more information on the 1970s (?) UK series wth this great cover art:

I don't see the book as collectible. I think it's closer to poor than fair based on the pictures. The dustjacket probably holds some value though.

You might get $10 for it.

Yeah, I didn't really either. I don't know exactly where it came from since none of my books would end up like that - I'll just throw it in pile for Half Price Books.

Rather than do that I would consider listing it on eBay and be sure to put "rare purple top stain" in the title of the listing and in the description. You might get some bidding on it.

Thanks to you both for the feedback. Acting on that advice, we were able to acquire four in all, net per well under $100. Maybe we wouldn't have bought them otherwise, but assuming that we had, you guys just saved me about $125.

Hey Michaël, looks like I have 2 of the ones you mentioned. They're both unread in great shape. Bad news is they're not for sale! Sorry! Just wanted to show you the covers.

I agree, I really like the cover art of these and also the earlier example you posted above.

I hope you are able to find them!

They look great! Looks like there are more unread copies floating around then, hopefully I'll be able to find them. If you come across the two you already own, please let me know!
