Very, very nice
Very, very nice
“Perhaps I am simply a madman who dreamt of being sane for a little while.”
— Roland Deschain
As I mentioned in an earlier post, we wanted them to be an homage to the first 24 Stu had done. They are similar, yet distinctly different. One of the big differences is that the page blocks were not trimmed to 11.5" and the correct 13" tall. The gold along the edges, the sewn in art, the limitation page, and a few other things also make these remarkable.
Pics coming in a minute. There are ~15 pics, so get ready.
Awesome Job!!!!
Love the details!!!!
Here we go.
Black bound:
Very nice!
Red:
Comparison with S/L in middle. S/L has clear protector so had a little glare.
Page block comparison.
Me too, especially the black copy. Do they have nicknames?
They will be for sale soon (I think)...
Both of them? I assumed you'd keep one and use the other for a HF auction.
They weren't donated. This is a project between Betts and TheDarkTower.org
I feel like a surrogate mother. Now that the books (baby) are here, I want to keep them.
After taking the pictures, I literally repackaged the books for shipping. If I put one or both on my shelf, I might not be able to let them go.
I'm pretty sure I can't afford one of these babies but I will be following all developments with much interest!
It must be tough letting those go. I'm not sure what the asking price will be but I'm guessing it's also outside of what I could pay. Although I may have to make an exception! I really want the black one!
Red for me

"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
The books look solid and they are stunning. I love the page which provides all the info on these editions. Great job done on putting these together.
Wow, Jerome. I haven't looked at this thread for awhile and when I pop back in, I find those. Truly stunning books. Wonderful job!!!!!
Red copy sold.
It hurts. There were only 2 of these.
The collector in me is crying....
Truly..tears...
Fuck
Who is the lucky buyer?
Didn't even know you could buy them yet. What's the black one going for? Or is that a secret.
