IDW announces a portfolio for "The lawnmower man", comic from 1981

"Scheduled for July is an Artist’s Portfolio for Lawnmower Man, a Stephen King short story adapted by Walt Simonson which appeared in Marvel’s Bizarre Adventures #29 in 1981. The portfolio will include 21 pages and the cover."

Why?

I wondered the same thing, and i think that the main conclusion is : King.
It will therefore sell. Even if the original magazine isnt really complicated to find.

But let's keep in mind that IDW is publishing artists editions of this same artist for his work on : Manhunter and Other Stories, and of another artist : John Buscema‘s Silver Surfer.
So it kind of looks like it make sense in their editorial collection... + couldnt let go the opportunity to have King's name in their catalog. Even if they already had ROAD RAGE.

You once told me that King had written notes on the boards in pencil -- did those survive or did they get erased?

Mostly erased because they were scattered around among the panels as well as above and below them. Couldn't leave much behind in order to get a clean image to photograph for printing. Killed me to do it.
