The Reflector - thank you! Regrettably, it's my only one. I have photocopies of the others, but haven't been able to acquire actual copies. . .sigh. . . someday!!
Adult titles - thanks!!! Many of those were REALLY tough, and I take great pride in them, even though Koontz denies having written all but 2 of them, and those 2 he claims were so vastly re-written by the publisher that they don't resemble his original novels (the same goes for Pig Society & ULH).
Lettered editions - I really don't have too many of DK lettereds. I have a really impressive run of F. Paul Wilson lettered editions, and have most of McCammon, Ketchum, & Dan Simmons lettereds. Koontz - the Charnel House ones are all, in my opinion, hugely over-priced to begin with. I have the Dark Harvest ones and a few others, but by no means all.
Anthologies - let me check the library and get back to you on that one.
Pride & joy Koontz. . . ugh. . .what a question! Well, certainly the Reflector issue, and the lettered state Beastchild. . .some of those adult books too are utterly obscure and near-impossible, such as Thirteen and Ready!. . . . in the pre-Internet days I would have said that the UK Darkness Comes & Prison of Ice, and anthologies such as Children of Infinity & Androids, Time Machines etc. were prides, but nowadays you can find these all over the place. Back in the late 80s/early 90s, they were near-impossible!
Good choices. Thanks for the offer on helping me with the anthologies. The day job keeps me pretty busy, but when I get a chance I'll post a list of what I have so far and see if you can add to it. I'm so pleased you decided to post the pics of your Koontz collection on this thread. I'm going to ask my son if I can hijack his FB so I can look through the individual items. I appreciate the communication and look forward to getting to know you better. It's so nice to share with others who possess the same interests.

Hey JC - Thank you! You should open a Facebook page yourself. Free & easy and this way you can share up-to-the-minute news. I find it much easier than these types of forums. But regardless, please let me know what you think of the Koontz stuff on Facebook. Great to meet you too, and I agree - it's really great to be able to share my book collecting hobby with others online. Sadly, in real life, I don't know a single book collector. People who come to my house and see the books are perhaps impressed by the sheer volume of them, but not at all by individual titles, or by their scarcity. Sigh. . .

It's my favorite DK book as well. Sad to say, no limited edition exists.
Thanks for the info. We need a petition to get one done :-)

He's an interesting author to collect because of all the pseudonyms.

Kingfan - That's great!! Collecting Koontz is a joy - there's SO much stuff! The pseudonyms (Yeah, Zelig!), the controversial adult stuff, the obscure short stories. . .it's a blast!

Hi Noah! Would you be able to tell me exactly which year/edition of The Reflector that is? I know in the 60's we used to publish a few a year. In recent years we only publish one larger book in the spring, but I'd love to know which exact book that one is. I'm the current Editor-in-Chief and am hoping to start adding photos of the work he did with The Reflector to our website. So far I haven't come across this book in our office but if I know the part of the year it was from it may help me track down the others.

It's really cool to see that you managed to get a copy of The Reflector and even cooler to find our magazine still popping up in conversations about Koontz's early work!

Hi Maddie!! Sorry, I thought you were talking about a different Koontz group I have on Facebook!
Anyway, my copy of The Reflector is the Winter 1965/66 issue. Here's a better photograph. Koontz published short fiction and/or poetry in 6 issues:

    Autumn 1965
    Winter 1965/66
    Spring 1966
    May 1966 (special poetry issue)
    Fall 1966
    Spring 1967

Some of these issues have been Holy Grails for me. If I could find copies, my Koontz collection would be 99% complete!!!

Looking for the following lettered editions: Dark Forces, 999, Crown of Shadows (Hill)

Picked up a Fine/Fine 1st UK HC of THE DOOR TO DECEMBER as by Leigh Nichols. Not a big deal in the scheme of things, I suppose, but it joins the five Dark Harvest HCs that reprinted all his Nichols works (I *think* they were all by Nichols). With a couple notable exceptions (VOICE OF THE NIGHT and LIGHTNING), those were always my favorites by him.

RC65 - Congrats on your new acquisition!! Yes, the Dark Harvest titles are all re-issues of Leigh Nichols PBOs. Door to December was originally published in the USA as a PBO under the pseudonym "Richard Paige." It was subsequently published as a PBO in the UK under the Nichols name. The Inner Circle hardcover you have is a reprint of the UK paperback, but is the first world hardcover edition of the novel, making it a desirable collectible. :-)
I'd have to say Watchers is still my favorite DK novel, although I do like all of your choices too!

Biomieg - that's a really tough one, mostly because of all of the adult titles that Koontz now denies having written, all of the fanzine stuff that he likewise now disowns, etc. etc.
    This site is about 85 - 90% complete: http://koontzproject.com/
You can also look at my Koontz collection on Facebook here:

    https://www.facebook.com/noah.mitche...0828265&type=3

This is 99% complete as far as fiction goes. I'm only missing one novel (I have a 2nd edition in there, but not the elusive 1st), one magazine containing short stories, and 5 of the 6 Shippensburg Reflector issues. I'd be happy to help you fill in any missing items personally if you want. You can always PM me or e-mail me directly at Suspiria13@aol.com

Zelig - "Oral Oracle." Impossible to find. Never even seen a copy in anyone's collection. I have a 2nd edition that was re-titled and is much easier to find.

Thanks. I had not even heard of that one. I see it's one of the adult titles. I hadn't spent too much time collecting those. Probably why I hadn't heard of it. Looks very obscure and hard to find like you say.

Yep, it's one of the adult titles. And yeah, crazy ridiculous difficult to find. I've got all of the other adult titles, which I started collecting in the very early 90s. This is the only one I haven't been able to find, out of maybe 15 or so! It's definitely giving Marshroots a run for its money!!

Sub Press is offering signed, limited editions of Charnel House's Relentless, The Good Guy and From the Corner of His Eye for $150.00 each which is well below issue price. Charnel House published only 250 of Relentless and From the Corner of His Eye was published in 2001 (500 S/L copies). Great deal! Here what it says on the Sub Press website:

We've recently scored 9-10 copies of three different Charnel House limited editions, all by Dean Koontz:

From the Corner of His Eye
    Relentless
    The Good Guy

All copies are in fine condition, in slipcase as issued. We did some checking on the net, and we can only find copies of Corner on offer. Neither of the others are to be found easily.

Thanks to Richardsrarebooks for bringing this to our attention on the SubPress thread. Here's the link

The Good Guy - Charnel House Lettered Edition 1 of 26
