There is a french proof of BAG OF BONES, with a letter from King to booksellers on the front.
I was 99% sure that it was the translation of the letter available on the UK ARC, but... i cant find that letter, anymore, in order to verify. Does anyone have it? As i may be wrong, but i dont seem to be finding this text in Justin's biblio.

THe letter starts with something like this :
Dear friend bookseller,
What i started working on BAG OF BONES, the novel that [french publisher] will be publishing at the fall of 1999, i looked at the calendar and the 50 years old coming catched my eyes. Many years have passed since CARRIE, SALEM, THE STAND, and many happy moments for me, and i hope, as many frights for those that read my books. [...]

King signed and inscribed about 100 US proofs of Bag of Bones, each to a different book seller. Maybe that's what you're thinking about. I have one VERY short one, inscribed to Helena Golay(?).

OK, thanks. I thought that there was a real letter from King. Does anyone have a UK proof of BAG OF BONES?
I was told that there was a letter there, that may be where the french one comes from..

There are three states to that proof. Green wrappers, grey wrappers and shiny (sometimes called holographic) wrappers. The earlier green state does not have the "Dear Bookseller" letter from King explaining how and why he wrote the book. The later two states do contain the letter.

I'll have to pull out my Bag of Bones proofs to verify. It is C357 in the first edition of Brooks' Bibliography. I wish he hadn't renumbered things.

Justin's book does not mention any ARC or Proof unless it has a piece of non-fiction not published anywhere else.

C414 does mention the UK ARC, but do not mention the fact that only 2 of the 3 states have it. And i was able to check, this is where the french letter comes from.

You shouldnt use the ID as a reference because of that reason. It was obvious since the previous version of the book, hence with the addentums.
I personally sort them by year, and then title of the piece.

Both of my UK BAG OF BONES proofs have a letter, but it's part of the proof, and not separate. Both letters are the same.

Yes. They are bound in and not loosely laid in. Which two proofs do you have?
