I didn't vote for this one because I haven't read The Old Man and The Sea, but I have an observation. If you vote you cannot see the screen names of other voters. If you do not vote, but click to see results you will be shown who has voted and what they voted on.
you can see the names if you click on the number of votes (in either row)

I voted my man Fyodor (of course) though if it were Crime and Punishment (my least favourite Dostoevsky) vs. Sun Also Rises (one of my favourite books) I'd have taken Hemingway.

Tough call.
Will have to reflect on this one some more before voting.

"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

I can't wait to re-read that, since it was my first Dostoevsky and was maybe his toughest read and a bad choice to start with lol. A friend of mine recently re-read Notes From Underground in a day and then went out to find Crime and Punishment lol

The Idiot is my favorite Dostoyevsky today... closely followed by - no, I'll shut up now, or I'll have to list his whole bibliography (at least the part that I've read)!

I just voted for Hemingway. Not that I love his particular book so much, but I simply could not finish C&P - a rarity for me.
