I really had a hard time with Wolves of the Calla at certain times. I'm not sure if my mind was on other things too much but I really didn't get into it too much.

Great thread here, All_Hail!
"It's his eyes, Roland thought. They were wide and terrible, the eyes of a dragon in human form" - Roland seeing the Crimson King for the first time.
"When the King comes and the Tower falls, sai, all such pretty things as yours will be broken. Then there will be darkness and nothing but the howl of Discordia and the cries of the can toi" - From Song of Susannah
After rereading the whole series, I had to have SoS at the top! It works the same way the Waste Lands did: there's action all the time and no time to be bored so I had to do it justice, didn't I? (I just know already I'll be the only one, but I'm prepared to it!)
It's cool because so many list it at the bottom. I can't order the series in the traditional fashion as you can see, because I love the whole series so I had to do a "tiered" approach. But The Dark Tower hasn't changed as my favorite.

Yeah, I saw it hadn't and I do understand perfectly that you couldn't order it in the usual way. No one said you had to like them in a specific order anyway, especially since YOU started this thread!

DotT is last? I'm crushed.

The only person's opinion that you should let crush you is mine dear!

Oh, my bad. Sorry.
You did sway my opinion on my tattoo, though. Does that count for anything?

What is it that puts 4 in your top slot, Mr. Q?
I've never imagined you to be a soppy-romantic type...
so, what is it about that story that grabs your interest so strongly?
Just because I don't worship mythical creatures doesn't make me a cold hearted douchebag Lady!
It's my favorite King book and probably my favorite book of all time. First off it's more of a "traditional" fantasy book compared to the others, and it's the fantasy angle that initially intrigued about the DT series. I think the flashback in W&G captured the whole DT mystic to perfection... Cuthbert and Alain, the dialogue of Mejis, Rhea of the Coos, the Pink Grapefruit, the whole mystery of the war against the "Good Man" ... plus I gained a greater appreciation for Roland after learning more of of his back story. As far as Susan, we all knew she was going to die, but when it finally happened it was still gut wrenching to experience. I had to hold back a bit 'o man-tears. I was haunted and fascinated by this book for years. I suppose I still am. Come, reap
