Assuming this will get an 'Airport' paperback edition' sometime just after release, which of you 'completist' types want me to try and pick up a 1st print of the UK edition?
I already have a standing order from Steve (ur2ndbiggestfan), but is anyone else interested?
I'm in and out of UK airports on an almost weekly basis and am happy to pick copies up. (Please keep in mind the expense of shipping from the UK)
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
Ah I wondered whose Steve UK hook up was. I get the UK export editions for him, which are very similar, just printed in Australia.
I just hope that if it does happen that at least a day or two notice, preferably more, will be given. With Joyland announcing the same time as the sale it was a madhouse trying to get a copy and if you happen to be working that day or traveling you were SOL. I lucked out and checked this site at the right time, but not everyone did.
I'd say that if there is one in the works, it would have been announced by now if we were going to get any advanced warning. I suspect if there is one, we won't hear about it until it is up for sale... So fingers crossed I'm awake when it happens!
Correct me if I'm wrong but Doctor Sleep was announced only a day or two early with speculation about a week before. That would be fine with me. I just don't want to show up to the party late.
CD gave a bit of warning didn't they? Saying "if you are a King collector you don't want to miss our announcement next week"
I don't recall that...and if they had.....the boards here would be full of speculation...and I have not seen that.

I must be thinking of a release before Dr Sleep then as I'm sure CD have made those kinds of announcements in the past. Maybe I'm thinking of The Dark Man.
Steve is taking a sabbatical year and apparently do not accept new projects (only dealing with the arrangements that were previously made), so I doubt that there will be a limited edition. But we never know. Maybe it is planned since ages...

I really liked the story! A few of the characters seem a bit contrived, but overall thoroughly enjoyed the book!! A few (very few) old King references thrown in for fun. Seems like a Michael Connelly book to me. Have to like detective novels to enjoy this one. But SK threw in a few surprises! I was quite pleased with the book. But disappointed that i waited 6 months for a new book and read it in two days (straight). Now i got to wait another 6 months for the next one!
Why is it that the letter that Lilja's Library has up on his website sound so familiar when I read it? Was it published as a short story in a magazine? I have read that somewhere before but where I can not recall at all.
ANYONE do you remember it also?
