Category Icons, and sub category icons-the dreaded red X

I am working on trying to resolve forum icons having the dreaded red X symbol.
It seems like Firefox/Mozilla has no issues, but IE and Chrome do. I will be checking Safari and other browsers.

I predominately use Safari and haven't noticed this issue FWIW.

I think I have it resolved. Members, please advise if you see the dreaded red x, or an empty box where there should be an image.
