What identifies the true first book club edition from the trade? Thanks!
You don't know my kind.....You don't my mind.....Dark necessities are part of my design.....
Brian, there are lots of differences between the first Book Club Edition and the Trade:
- The BCA edition is physically smaller than the trade (see below)
- The dustjacket has no "Hodder & Stoughton" printed on the lower portion of the spine
- The BCA edition has an ISBN of CN6975
- The copyright page has "This edition published 1992 by BCA by arrangement with Hodder & Stoughton Ltd"
- The title page has a BCA logo, rather than the Hodder & Stoughton logo.

What's the value of that Book Club 1st? Sounds like something to look for.
I'm sure if there is intelligent life somewhere out there in the universe, they are wise enough to stay away from us.

Mine doesn’t, Brian.
I can’t swear that this is a first printing, though.

Thanks, Peter. The one I was looking at might very well be a reprint then.

If it says reprint, then it is not the first printing.
