I'm very much looking forward to his portrayal as J. Edgar Hoover in Eastwoods new movie. He's also got the lead in the new Tarantino flick alongside Sam Jackson, Kevin Costner and Christoph Walz. I see great, great things coming from DiCaprio in the next few years.
You see, it may just be that i've only seen, what, 4 of his films, but he usually sticks with two modes of acting: looking serious while talking quietly, and going, "GOD, NO!!!!" over his dead wife (which seems to happen to his characters quite a bit). Whenever he's supposed to do tragic scenes, he's more likely to make me laugh than cry. Certainly I don't think he has half the talent that Stephen Graham has: his performance as Combo was both charasmatic and repulsive, to say the very, very least. You really look at all the tiny things he puts into his voice, the way his hands move, the emotions on his face, and it just makes me sad to think that he won't likely make it out of this round. DiCaprio? There's none of those subtleties there, at least, none that I've seen.
