It's really nice to hear that more King works will be released before the end of the year. This year was, somehow, odd that only one novel is going to be published.

    Now we can add:

    - The Dune
    - The little green God of Agony
    - Mile 81

And for next year we're getting The Wind Through The Keyhole, Ghost Brothers of Darkland County and, for sure, a new book before the end of the year.
    Wanted list:

Ari, is there another book confirmed for 2012?

haven't heard anything recently about the book/CD edition of Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, but assuming that is still a go.

Not that I know of, but considering only one has been announced, and for the first part of the year, I bet there'll be another one for November.

    Relevant, but spoilerish quote:

King's new 13-page story, "The Dune," is about a 90-year-old retired judge who harbors a big secret about a tiny no-name island off the coast of Florida. It will appear in Granta's 256-page fall issue, on sale Oct. 27 ($16.99).

"The Dune" features no monsters or violence. The horror is more psychological, as the judge -- his body "nothing but a sack filled with aches and indignities" -- tells a young lawyer a story he's never told before.

It involves his ability to read obituaries in advance, which, as the judge puts it, "gives a man an extraordinary sense of power. Perhaps you will find that unlovely. The truth often is."

The story is best read for the impact of its final word in its final sentence.

Is there a Shai-Hulud in this story?
There's one hole in every revolution, large or small. And it's one word long.. people. No matter how big the idea they all stand under, people are small and weak and cheap and frightened. It's people that kill every revolution.

It's funny -- I ordered through Amazon. A copy of the book showed up a couple of weeks ago, so I thought it was that. Then Amazon notified me there was a problem with my credit card for the order (the expiration date had changed in the interim and I hadn't updated them). So I went back to the book and discovered it had been sent to me by the publicist! So I canceled my order at Amazon.
