With A Fist Full Of Steel
A History Of Violence
Just wanting to read something random I picked up A History of Violence, which most may remember as a David Cronenberg flick with good 'ol Vigo Mortensen in it, which is published under the Vertigo line. This graphic novel, written by John Wagner (Judge Dredd), deals with mild mannered man who becomes a local hero through an act of violence, which will dredge up his past and set off repercussions that will shake his family to their very core. Its a great, quick, gangster read with a stylized scratchy, edgy, b/w art if you looking for something a bit different to read.
"As for gunslingers, Roland," Cuthbert says, "I am here. And we are the last."
When two fit, it makes you think
I got the cute one, my woman
She says, "Lovin's all I bring"
And it's her loving that's a wonderful thing.
Lovin' yes we are, it's such a wonderful thing
When two fit it makes you think
See us both in the black
She lays on me so relaxed.

Very good novel, and the movie mostly does it justice I think.
