Techtree News Staff, Apr 22, 2009 1056 hrs IST
Not a sequel but arrives for PC, PS3, Xbox 360
Bethesda Softworks has announced new post-nuclear RPG game in Fallout series titled - Fallout: New Vegas at a press conference in London, UK. This Fallout title will be released for PC, PS 3 and Xbox 360 sometime next year 2010.
Obsidian Entertainment would be working in the Fallout: New Vegas and not Bethesda Softworks. Knights of the Old Republic II and Neverwinter Nights II (with expansions) are some of the Obsidian's previous works.
Bethesda, vice-president of PR and Marketing Pete Hines, stressed, "This is not a sequel to Fallout 3, and this won't impact whatever Todd Howard and his group over at Bethesda Softworks are working on. This is just another Fallout title." He further added that this title won't be affecting on what Todd Howard, executive producer and game director for Bethesda and his team were working on.
Unfortunately, the Pip boys couldn't enter the Indian shores because the RPG/Shooter was doubted on causing 'cultural sensitivities in India'. We know how gamers feel about it. Since this game is not developed by Bethesda we may expect a slight change in story telling, graphics and treatment in the environments.
Recently, Bethesda was also reported for filing trademark on Fallout name which is speculated to be used for movie and TV series.
and I haven't even finished Fallout 3 yet.
sounds good, but it's supposedly gonna be released soon, which worries some that the game may not be good as it's predecessors.
Considering it's being developed by Obsidian (made up by the people who actually created Fallout and dev'd Fallout 1 and 2) I'd say we have very few worries. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a true sequel in the style of Fallout 1 and 2.

I never played Fallout 1 or 2. But I've been a lookin' fer 'um. And I'm looking forward to this.
Big town's got its losers, small town's got its vices...
There's a collection for about $10, I think Amazon has 'em.
They're great games. They're completely different than Fallout 3 in every way except style. You've still got the Pip-Boy, VATS, etc, same 50's vibe. But the gameplay is totally 100% different.

I was planning on starting it the other day, but I got sidetracked and started playing Resistance 2 online because my friend just bought the game. Those 30 vs 30 battles are pure chaos.
I will post when I start playing it for sure. From what I hear, it's a game that should not be missed.

Remember, Remember, The Fifth of November, The Gunpowder, Treason, and Plot.
Which means us PC users won't see it until at least November
Well, I started Valkyria Chronicles the other night. The reason why I didn't post sooner is because I can't stop playing the game.
I started at 11:00pm and the next time I looked up at the clock, it was 1:30 in the morning. If I didn't have to get up the next morning to go to work, I could have easily kept playing.
The game has a great feel and look. The gameplay is different than anything I've ever played. I love the strategy and executing a great plan of attack. If you like playing chess, paintball, anime, role playing games, war then you will like this game.

Is anyone else buying Infamous for PS3? That game is going to be SICK.
I'm predicting an early Game of The Year contender, no joke.
I'm fairly certain that nothing can top Modern Warfare 2 in that regard Feev. There's just too much excitement about it and it seems to be everywhere on the net and television. I think that Infinity Ward is going to single handedly save the world economy in November.
But let me know how Infamous is.
Yes, GOTY-ness. They even released a teaser trailer during a baseball game the other night anticipating the official trailer which is coming out later this month. A lot of hype... which I'm not sure how I feel about.
I watched a video review of Infamous yesterday after you mentioned it and it does look pretty cool. The moral paths the main character could take seem interesting as well as the open environments- kind of like GTA meets Force Unleashed or something.
The "official trailer" later this month? Shit, the game drops in less than 2 weeks.
